Sources & method
Useful facts.
Clear limits.
How the city briefs are built, what the figures mean, and what still needs a shop-specific review.
The inputs
Where the numbers come from.
Population
U.S. Census Bureau Vintage 2025 annual resident estimates, July 1, 2020 through July 1, 2025. Growth is (2025 estimate ÷ 2020 estimate − 1) × 100. These are estimates, not 2020 Decennial Census counts. When a city name matches more than one geography in a state, the incorporated place with the larger matched population is used. Selected New England town estimates are explicitly labeled where place and town boundaries differ.
Land area and reference points
2025 Census Gazetteer place files supply land area and internal reference coordinates. The reference point is not a shop address. Where a matched place is unavailable, the US Cities Database supplies coordinates and the unavailable Census fields are omitted.
Nearby markets
The six nearest city pages in our published directory are sorted by great-circle distance using the Haversine formula and an Earth radius of 3,958.8 miles. Nearby places not on this site are excluded. The diagram shows direction and straight-line distance, not roads or travel times.
Our recommendations
Population growth, density and nearby reference points inform a starting hypothesis. They do not establish ad demand, competition, search rankings, vehicle ownership, collision incidence or profitability. Channel and budget recommendations require the shop’s own data.
Territory and offices
We serve U.S. shops remotely. Location pages describe service areas, not physical Collision Catalyst offices. No page implies an open territory or a local client result unless the case study says so.
